| Agkistrodon piscivorus (Cottonmouth) |
Agkistrodon piscivorus, also commonly known as Cottonmouth is one of the species of the venomous pit viper that can be found around southeastern US. They are known to inflict a really painful bites and it can be potentially fatal, especially when they reached adult stage. That aside, they are infamous for having this stance where they stand at their place while coiling and display their fangs. Other than that, Cottonmouth is the only semi-aquatic viper in the world as they tend to be in or around water like in the lakes or slow moving rivers. Depending on the area, they can grow up to 180cm at most when they reached adulthood. Most of them have the color scheme of almost or pure black with color patterns of brown, tan, grey, olive yellow or other darker colors to accompany them. Their venom is dreadful as it is more lethal than of Copperheads' as it is capable of destroying tissue.
