| Euprepiophis conspicillatus (Japanese forest rat snake) |
Euprepiophis conspicillatus, also commonly known as Japanese forest rat snake is one of the nonvenomous colubrid snake species that hails from Japan. They can usually grow up to 100cm long at most when they reached adulthood. In Japanese, they are known as jimugiri, which can be translated roughly into 'The Burrower'. This species is related to Euprepiophis mandarinus (Mandarin Rat Snake). They tend to exist anywhere on the surface actively at any hour unless it is mid-late summer where they would avoid the heat. Like the Mandarin Rat Snake, they too tend to hide in rodent burrows for shelter.
