Nerodia fasciata (Banded water snake)
Nerodia fasciata, also commonly known as Banded water snake is one of the non-venomous colubrid snake edemic species that is almost entirely aquatic that can be found around central and southeaster US. They tend to grow up to 158.8 cm at most at adult stage, depending on the area that they hail from. Their color schemes are usually in gray, greenish-gray or brownish-black with dark crossbandings around them. Aside that, they have rather flat heads and they tend to be heavy-bodied. Because of their appearances, most people are likely to confuse them with another snake species that has the same habitat like the venomous Cottonmouth.
